Job Title - Programmer Analyst 6
Location - Lansing, MI ( only local )
Work Model - Hybrid (2 days a week in office).
Pay Rate - 60/hr C2H (Contract - (1 year+)
Bill Rate - 75/hr C2H
Client - Smith Johnson Tech
End client - State of MI
Visa - USC GC, H4 EAD
Client interview - Interview Process: Virtual Interview via MS Teams (video required). Candidates should join from a laptop and be prepared to share their screen if requested. Seeking an experienced C#/.Net engineer with strong skills in SQL Server, API testing, design patterns, and secure coding practices.
JOB SUMMARY
This Programmer Analyst 6 position will work as contract resource for the State of Michigan - Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) in a staff augmentation capacity. The individual is responsible for providing maintenance, operations and security for DSA - Database Security Application and multiple projects for the Department of Health and Human Services. The resource will act as a senior developer and analyst in an agile environment on a small development team to write and test code to implement the user stories and requirements for various ongoing new development and maintenance projects. Applications are developed using .NET Framework 4.8, .NET C#, and.NET 10 CORE using REST/SOAP API.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in technical architecture discussions, modernization initiatives, and forward‑looking solution design efforts
- Allocate work effort across enhancements and maintenance activities, with approximately 40% focused on new features and enhancements and 60% on maintenance and bug fixes
- Design, develop, and maintain ASP.NET MVC applications and Web APIs using JSON, Swagger, and Dapper
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with strong Git-based source control practices
- Build and enhance front-end functionality using JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Telerik UI
- Develop and maintain Crystal Reports to support business reporting needs
- Tune SQL queries and optimize database performance across distributed systems
- Utilize Visual Studio for enterprise application development and debugging
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 9+ years of professional experience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET Framework 4.8
- Hands-on experience developing applications using modern .NET versions (e.g., .NET Core, .NET 8, or .NET 10)
- Advanced proficiency with SQL Server 2019, including SSIS package development, complex SQL scripting, stored procedures, and performance optimization
- Proficiency in API testing using Postman and SoapUI, along with automated UI testing using Selenium
- Strong understanding of design patterns (Repository, Factory, Dependency Injection) and demonstrated adherence to SOLID principles
- Expert-level knowledge of secure coding practices, including prevention of XSS, SQL injection, and implementation of robust security logging
- Experience building and maintaining unit tests using NUnit or XUnit frameworks
- Ability to design scalable and maintainable systems using clean architecture and modular design principles
Preferred:
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams to support seamless system and API integrations
- 9+ years working within Agile/SCRUM environments, actively contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and team-based delivery
