Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Consultant for a hybrid contract opportunity in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO), along with prior experience working in the Automotive / Manufacturing domain.
This role requires a strong functional consultant who can support finance and controlling processes, partner with business stakeholders, and contribute to ongoing enhancements, issue resolution, integrations, and project initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
The consultant should be comfortable working across finance operations, costing, reporting, and SAP cross-functional integrations while supporting both business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to SAP FI/CO processes.
- Configure, support, and enhance SAP FICO modules including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Accounting (AA)
- Bank Accounting
- Cost Center Accounting
- Profit Center Accounting
- Internal Orders
- Product Costing
- Profitability Analysis (COPA)
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Work with finance, accounting, and operations teams to improve business processes and system efficiency.
- Support automotive/manufacturing finance processes, including:
- Inventory valuation
- Standard costing
- Production costing
- Cost allocation
- Variance analysis
- Plant-level financial processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration with MM, SD, PP, WM, and procurement.
- Prepare functional specifications and work with technical/ABAP teams on enhancements, interfaces, reports, and custom developments.
- Participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP FICO production issues in a timely manner.
- Support system enhancements, implementation activities, rollouts, and business process improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation including configuration documents, test scripts, process flows, and training materials.
Required Skills / Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in SAP FICO.
- Strong hands-on experience in SAP FI and CO configuration and support.
- Must have prior experience in the Automotive / Manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- GL / AP / AR / AA
- Cost Center Accounting
- Profit Center Accounting
- Internal Orders
- Product Costing
- COPA
- Financial closing processes
- Experience integrating SAP FICO with MM, SD, and PP.
- Experience supporting manufacturing finance and cost accounting processes.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and costing models.
- Ability to work directly with business users and stakeholders.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance
- Exposure to:
- Material Ledger
- Cost Object Controlling
- Intercompany accounting
- Plant accounting
- Experience with automotive supply chain or production environments
- SAP certification is a plus
